We are Carol and Steve Lucey, a husband and wife team, with a lifelong love of growing plants, being creative and celebrating nature.
We are enthusiastic (some would say fanatical) gardeners with over 40 years experience in growing british country garden flowers. Having both graduated in Botany from Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London, Carol trained in floristry and garden design and Steve worked for over 20 years in horticulture and agriculture research gaining a PhD in Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics in 1984.
For the last seven years we have run Honey Pot Flowers, a family business growing seasonal cut flowers and offering wedding floristry and celebration bouquets. Although we have thoroughly enjoyed the business we have decided that it is time to retire from commercial growing.
Our love of gardening of course continues and we are now able to spend much more time in our own gardens. This blog charts our journey (successes and failures) as we transform the commercial garden into a more attractive and aesthetically pleasing ornamental garden.
